# Connect your assistant

> Add Altitude to your AI client, sign in, and check your connection.

## Before you start

You need an Altitude account and an AI client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP with OAuth browser sign-in. To see Workspace results, you need an active membership in at least one Workspace.

You do not need to copy an API key or access token. You sign in through your browser.

## Connection details

| Field | Value |
| - | - |
| Name | Altitude |
| Server URL | `https://mcp.altitude.xyz/mcp` |
| Transport, if requested | Streamable HTTP |
| Authentication | Browser-based sign-in (OAuth) |

Leave any API key or header fields empty.

## Add Altitude to your client

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Claude">
    Connect your Altitude account so Claude can help you view Workspaces, check balances, and search Transactions.

    <Card title="Add Altitude to Claude" icon="arrow-up-right-from-square" href="https://claude.ai/customize/connectors?modal=add-custom-connector&connectorName=Altitude&connectorUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fmcp.altitude.xyz%2Fmcp">
      Open Claude with the connector name and server URL filled in.
    </Card>

    Review the connection details in Claude, confirm that you want to add Altitude, and complete the Altitude sign-in when prompted.

    **Individual plans:** On Pro or Max, open **Customize → Connectors**, select **+ Add → Add custom connector**, enter the [connection details](#connection-details), and continue. Keep OAuth browser sign-in and leave request headers empty. Finish adding Altitude and sign in when prompted. Claude also offers custom connectors on Free, with a one-connector limit.

    **Team and Enterprise:** A Team Owner or Primary Owner must first add Altitude under **Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web**. Enterprise also permits custom roles with **Manage access to Libraries**. Use the same connection details, OAuth sign-in, and empty request headers. Members then open **Customize → Connectors**, find Altitude, and select **Connect** to sign in individually.

    Enable Altitude for your conversation under **+ → Connectors**. See [Claude's custom connector guide](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11175166-get-started-with-custom-connectors-using-remote-mcp) for current account and role requirements.

  <Tab title="ChatGPT">
    Connect your Altitude account so ChatGPT can help you view Workspaces, check balances, and search Transactions.

    1. Open [ChatGPT Plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins).
    2. Select the plus button, then **Add custom MCP server**.
    3. Name the connection **Altitude**, add a description, and enter the [server URL](#connection-details) under **Connection**.
    4. Use OAuth authentication, review the notice, and select **I understand and want to continue**.
    5. Select **Create as a plugin** and complete Altitude sign-in when prompted.
    6. Install the resulting plugin, start a new chat, and select **Altitude** from the **@** menu.

    Account and workspace policies control whether you can create and use a custom MCP connection. If the option is missing, check with your workspace administrator and follow [OpenAI's current connection guide](https://developers.openai.com/plugins/deploy/connect-chatgpt). Setup menus can differ by account and client version.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Grok">
    1. Open [Grok Connectors](https://grok.com/connectors).
    2. Select **New Connector → Custom**.
    3. Enter `https://mcp.altitude.xyz/mcp` and complete OAuth browser sign-in to Altitude.

    For Business and Enterprise accounts, an administrator must provision the connector before members can use it. See [Grok's connector guide](https://docs.x.ai/grok/connectors). A chat response alone does not confirm a connection; run the checks below.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Grok Bot">
    Send this prompt to Grok Bot:

    ```text theme={null}
    Connect to Altitude using this MCP server: https://mcp.altitude.xyz/mcp
    ```

    Follow the sign-in instructions, then check your connection below.

    If the prompt does not start setup, try [Grok Connectors](https://grok.com/connectors) or use the **Other MCP clients** tab with a compatible client.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Other MCP clients">
    Your client must support remote MCP servers over **Streamable HTTP** and **OAuth browser sign-in**.

    Local-only or SSE-only clients, and clients that accept only API keys or manually supplied tokens, cannot use this sign-in flow. Your client or organization may also restrict custom servers.

    1. Open your client's MCP server or connector settings and add a remote server named **Altitude**.
    2. Enter `https://mcp.altitude.xyz/mcp` as the server URL and select **Streamable HTTP** if requested.
    3. Use OAuth browser sign-in. Leave API key and request header fields empty.
    4. Complete Altitude sign-in, return to your client, and enable the tools for your conversation if required.
    5. Check your connection below.

    Document downloads also require support for saving or displaying standard MCP binary resources. File presentation varies by client.

## Check your connection

Ask your assistant:

> Which Altitude account am I connected to? List the Workspaces I can access.

Then try:

> Show me the Accounts and balances in \[Workspace name], grouped by currency.

With card-only access, try this instead:

> Show me my card purchases and refunds in \[Workspace name] this week.

Compare the tools your client exposes with the [tool reference](/mcp/tool-reference). If the connection fails, tools are missing, or a Workspace is missing, see [troubleshooting](/mcp/troubleshooting).
