# Permissions and access

> Understand what your assistant can read and how to disconnect it.

## Your existing Permissions apply

Your assistant accesses Altitude through the account you sign in with. Connecting it does not add or remove Permissions.

Your assistant can read information and request document exports. It cannot create, Approve, or Submit Payments, change Workspace settings, or move funds—even if your account can perform those actions in Altitude.

## Workspace access and card-only access

| Your access | What your assistant can retrieve |
| - | - |
| Workspace read access | Accounts and balances, plus permitted Transaction history in that Workspace. |
| Own-card access without Workspace read access | Your card purchases, refunds, and their statuses, including history for deleted cards. |

Card-only results exclude other Members' cards, card funding, withdrawals, cashback, and non-card activity. They do not represent the Workspace's total spending.

Your assistant can list your active Workspace memberships and identify those where you have card-only access.

## Document exports

Workspace read access permits Workspace documents. Own-card access permits your individual card statements and transaction statements for your own cards. Available documents and date limits are returned by `list_export_options`; additional requirements, such as approved business verification, can apply.

Only the account that requested an export can check or download it, and current membership and document Permissions are checked again. Preparing an export sends no email. See [request a document](/mcp/tool-reference#request-a-document) for document-specific requirements.

## Review connected clients

In the Altitude app, go to **Settings → My account → MCP connections** to see the AI clients you have authorized.

## Disconnect an assistant

In the Altitude app, go to **Settings → My account → MCP connections**. Select **Disconnect** next to the assistant, then confirm.

This revokes that client's access across all your Workspaces. You stay signed in to Altitude and can reconnect the assistant later.
